This brief offers an accessible, uniform format to effectively communicate the story of your early care and education (ECE) workforce. Developed by the Early Childhood Data Collaborative (ECDC), the National Workforce Registry Alliance, and the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment at UC Berkeley, this data-reporting guidance prioritizes key data elements that policymakers can use to identify the workforce supports needed to recruit and retain a well-trained, ethnically, and linguistically diverse workforce that is adequately compensated to meet the developmental needs of young children across various settings. In addition to the guidance, the report authors created three state profiles with examples of how the data can be presented: Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Montana.
