This report by the National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance provides questions for state licensing administrators and their staff to help identify and consider possible inequities in the licensing system. In a system where Black early care and education teachers earn less than their White colleagues, addressing inequities in licensing is a step towards closing the racial gap, when considered simultaneously with broader state efforts to address equity issues. Readers will walk away with examples of questions that can help foster and guide discussions to identify areas in which to start exploring issues of inequity.
